Service Description

This course is designed to prepare students aged 9-12 for portfolio preparation, in view of future application for Direct School Admission (DSA). More importantly so, the course is geared towards a more rigorous training for children who are passionate about art and would like to take their interests further. Children will actually be prepared beyond DSA and graduate this course with a world-class art portfolio. The course comprises of two-hour long sessions weekly and each session will be tackled in 3 parts - 1 hour of drawing/painting techniques, 30 mins of Art Appreciation and 30 mins of visual literacy. Students will learn drawing techniques ranging from figure drawing, portraiture, sketching, painting, etc. For Art Appreciation, students will go further deeper into Art movements instead of just Artists alone, accompanied by simple writing and research work. And for visual literacy, children will be challenged with out-of-the-box design problems and for them to propose solutions, and will include weekly take-home projects. This visual literacy component is a tribute and credit to pioneer and main champion for the subject in the design field, Richard Wilde. Course content will be extracted from Richard Wilde’s publications.
